Wow, I got slightly busy and forgot to blog for a week!
Well, during this week the units are starting to get more difficult and challenging to understand. I have been cracking my brains over the latest tutorials and quizzes, researching on stuff I’m not sure of, and have been really working hard, compared to the past two years. I’ve yet to start on the first assignment due in four weeks…
I met up with Justin again on my free day to have lunch, and visited his house for some R&R.
My cell-leader just got married yesterday, and I attended the ceremony. When you see people in the same generation moving on in life, (naturally) I was thinking like… ‘wow… when will my turn come lol!’ I really enjoyed the lunch – haven’t had anything great for quite a while already, and furthermore I only had a light breakfast that day.

Yesterday I wanted to make scrambled eggs but in the end I just ate cereal. I planned and walked to Victoria Park to explore the place and bought a 3 plastic files and spare tires for my bicycle. Had lunch before walking to collect my textbook that I previously ordered. In total I walked about 10km. I managed to change the tires for my bicycle. The previous ones were no good as they were too thin and didn’t have any chance against thorns. The process was interesting… it took me about an hour to get it done, and had some trouble putting the rear wheel back because of the chains. Went for tennis after that. The weather was hotter in the late afternoon than in the morning, but it drops fast at around 8pm.
The weather here recently turned from dry and hot to cold and windy. I have to wear a windbreaker and stay in the sun just to remain warm. It’s still better than hot weather as the rate of dehydration is slowed significantly.
Yesterday evening was one of the most fun tennis sessions I’ve played. The group was small enough so we didn’t have to take turns to play, and I played in a doubles game for a full 90 minutes. I also hit a few very nice returns :) The skill level of the players was about the same as me.
Today I cooked my best dinner yet. I added this special sausage that I bought from the grocery store on my way back, and it made the instant noodles very fragrant and tasty. I also had mango for dessert (pictures on facebook).
Today I went to Ps. Benny’s church. Thankful that I got a lift from cell-leader. I could connect with the worship and sermon from Ps. Benny. Went for lunch as a cell at some ‘hawker center’-style place.
Went to cell members’ (Michelle and Siaw Tze)’s house for housewarming dinner just now. Got to interact a bit more there.
