Today after church service I helped with some decorations for the Christmas dinner. The Chinese congregation catered lunch and invited me to join them, so I had lunch in Church. After the second service, I joined the JG to play paintball at the Singapore Discovery Center. It was ok, but a little disappointing because the play field was smaller than I expected, and there were several technical difficulties that delayed the program. At least I got to shoot a few people (I never got hit by any paintballs).
Pastor Jon sent me home after the event. As I was hot and sweaty, I went swimming at the public pool (15 laps). After that I went to buy dinner at Macdonalds and some groceries from NTUC before going home.
Today I participated in my church’s community outreach. The weather was good. We were supposed to distribute umbrellas to the people living nearby, and invite them for the outreach program in two weeks time.
Today, I completed my part of the FYPJ (final year project) and is ready for integration testing. I feel so glad that it’s coming to a closure in two weeks time. I have learnt much from this unique project (it’s the most difficult of all the projects), and it’s a good feeling to see my programming turn to something useful. It was really boring at times, when I got stuck at certain errors in the codes, or when I’ve completed a part of the project and the supervisors are nowhere to be found. My supervisor said that was really pleased with my group’s performance during the informal meeting at the end of today. Hope I will get good results for my FYPJ to pull up my GPA (grade-point average).
After I logged off, I took the MRT to Marina Bay to meet my JG cell for dinner. My sis called me earlier to inform me about it. (The last time I was in Marina Bay I was in sec 1, for some BB outing.) We took a bus to some seafood steamboat restaurant nearby. The food wasn’t really my usual type, but it was edible. We got about 12 larger-than-average fresh crabs and four plastic containers of prawns (about 1-1.5kg). John, Justus and I went to help chop and wash up the crabs, although I didn’t do much. John did a very good job of chopping up the crabs (we only had one chopper). Everything else was self-service, from meat, noodles, rice, herbs, finger-food, satay, etc. It costs $12 per person, but was subsidised 5/6 of the cost. It was quite an enjoyable time, catching up with my cell, while having dinner together.
I also just realized I don’t blog that often. Usually it’s when lots of stuff happen in one day, or some memory that I want to remember next time, or some milestone or achievement, that I will write something about it.
Now I have somewhat suspended playing MapleStory and switched to PangYa. It’s a cool 3D golf game with cartoon/anime-like characters. Similar to Gunbound, but you hit the golf ball instead of shooting at your opponents.
Two weeks ago, I took the NAFPA test. Almost got a silver, but because I only could do three pull-ups (after going through the other stations). I usually could have done five, but I guess I was too tired. Maybe the next time I’ll try to request to do pull-ups first.
Today (oops, yesterday already) my church had a Christmas dinner event. The food was O-K (not that good or bad). I helped out with taking pictures.
After my classes today, I took the MRT to Plaza Singapura’s Cafe Cartel for dinner with the Bubble Tea group, to “celebrate” the last day for those taking the ‘O’ levels. I met my brother and sister at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Aunty Guek Ju and Avonne was there first. Elizabeth, Si Rui and Allison arrived after us.
We accidentally (did we?) ordered too much dishes – 3 combo sets, and some 10 scoops of ice-cream, and couldn’t finish them. In the end Elizabeth, Si Rui and Allison took the remainders home.
My mother and grandmother went to Sarawak this morning. Tomorrow my brother and sister are going to the Bubble Tea “Retreat” at Safra Changi.
