Samuel Liew’s Blog

News, events, and other interesting finds

Wow, I got slightly busy and forgot to blog for a week!

Well, during this week the units are starting to get more difficult and challenging to understand. I have been cracking my brains over the latest tutorials and quizzes, researching on stuff I’m not sure of, and have been really working hard, compared to the past two years. I’ve yet to start on the first assignment due in four weeks…

I met up with Justin again on my free day to have lunch, and visited his house for some R&R.

My cell-leader just got married yesterday, and I attended the ceremony. When you see people in the same generation moving on in life, (naturally) I was thinking like… ‘wow… when will my turn come lol!’  I really enjoyed the lunch – haven’t had anything great for quite a while already, and furthermore I only had a light breakfast that day.

Yesterday I went out with Justin. He brought me to have lunch at some jap shop in the city. We then went to King’s park and Cottesloe Beach. Shared a tub of ice-cream :) and took photos.

Time flies sooo fast! I have so many things to do, so many people to catch up with, and so little time left… I’m already missing all my friends.

Been planning the farewell dinner at my house and packing most of my stuff the whole of last week.

Wednesady, lunch with some friends.
Thursday, had dinner with Azaac.
Friday, a farewell dinner for friends at my house.
Saturday, church prayed for me (Rachel & Sasha also) during service.
Today, U Connect group farewell lunch at Bugis.

Tomorrow will be the last day to complete the packing.

Today I met Azaac for dinner at J8. He came straight from school, with a new ‘funky’ hairstyle :D We went to sakae and ordered lots of food (lucky we still could finish them). We chatted and catch up with one another, and discussed future plans. It was so nice spending time with him.

I came home and made this very special card for him. I bought the card previously, so I drafted the letter, and wrote it nicely on the card. I also printed out an article about friends, and wrote out a nice SMS that I sent to him a long time ago, which I had saved in my handphone (his previous one had spoiled). Hope we can take a nice photo later so that I can add it to the ‘friendship pack’. Haha

No, it’s not me, but many of my friends are already in some kind of relationship…

Anyway, on the 26th I met Alex, Bevan & Jon for lunch. We went to some place near Bugis that sells noodles with milk soup or soup with milk (?). I didn’t want noodles so I just ate a normal set meal. It was a time of catching up, and we talked about everything under the sun. (okay, just about ourselves and future plans)

I arranged with Justin to take leave today to meet for a catch-up. The last time we met was about two years ago. Justin suggested that we go ice skating at Kallang and it sounded like fun. We met at Kallang MRT at 11 and made our way there. Ice skating was slightly more difficult than roller blading, but it didn’t take long to get used to it. The place wasn’t even that cold. We chatted while going around the skating rink and talked about stuff. Later we had lunch at the nearby food court. Too bad we didn’t bring any camera with us.

Who needs it most:

You’re never alone, I’m always near
When your troubled, down or blue
All you have to do is call me
I’m always here for you

It doesn’t matter where I’m at
It doesn’t matter when
When you need someone to talk to
I’m here to be your friend

If you need someone to hold your hand
Or a hug to say I care
If you need a shoulder to cry on
For you I will be there

So never think you are a burden
When the weight gets too much
You might find if you look hard enough
A good friend could be the right touch

You’re never alone, I’m always here
Through the good times and the bad
I’m always here to be your friend
I don’t like to see you sad

Smile, you’ve got more than one friend you know =)
