Restaurant City Tips:
  1. Visit all your friends restaurants to get more ingredients. If your friends don’t play, invite them!
  2. You get a free item everyday when you log into the game. You also get a free item by doing the daily quiz. It is important to get them correct as they are easy. Quiz answers here.
  3. Do not trade any of these items away. they are SUPER RARE!!!
    • PRAWN
    • ONION
    • SALAD
    • FLOUR
    • POTATO

and also try not to use any of these items because you will find it hard to level up those dishes

  4. Try to level up only one dish from each of the three categories, before you start on the rest. Don’t waste items on other dishes. Higher level means more exp when you serve them to customers. If you don’t have the required items, visit your friends and trade!
  5. Try to follow this layout for more experience
    http://restaurantcity-tips.blogspot.com/search/label/Restaurant%20Layouts
  6. Don’t waste money on expensive stoves! They all cook at the same speed!
Soda machines and other whatnots are also for show. They don’t do anything. The only thing you may need in the future is arcade machines, to prevent your pop from decreasing. Even then you only need at most 8.
  7. Although the game say you need toilets, you don’t have to get them, and you will still get the same amount of money and experience. Furthermore, they are also unsightly and needs someone to be a cleaner. (Why waste manpower when you can get more cooks so you can earn money and experience faster)
  8. Try to keep the game minimized when not in use as it takes up about 50-70% CPU (it may lag when the game has been running for an hour+)

Some tips for playing (singing) on karaokeparty.com

  1. Use a proper microphone (even cheap ones work better than laptop built-in ones)
  2. Drag long notes properly for lots of points
  3. Adjust microphone sensitivity before starting. If not or too sensitive, wrap a thin cloth or tissue around the microphone.
  4. Slow songs are easier to score in general. Start with those. If you need suggestions, see the songs in my high score list on my page.

Have fun!

I tried the game today. It was kind of disappointing. The interface looks terrible and it was difficult to control the units.

I reached level 60 in maplestory yesterday! Some party member gave me a silver identity to wear =)

I got a hole-in-one in Pangya yesterday!

Today, I completed my part of the FYPJ (final year project) and is ready for integration testing. I feel so glad that it’s coming to a closure in two weeks time. I have learnt much from this unique project (it’s the most difficult of all the projects), and it’s a good feeling to see my programming turn to something useful. It was really boring at times, when I got stuck at certain errors in the codes, or when I’ve completed a part of the project and the supervisors are nowhere to be found. My supervisor said that was really pleased with my group’s performance during the informal meeting at the end of today. Hope I will get good results for my FYPJ to pull up my GPA (grade-point average).

After I logged off, I took the MRT to Marina Bay to meet my JG cell for dinner. My sis called me earlier to inform me about it. (The last time I was in Marina Bay I was in sec 1, for some BB outing.) We took a bus to some seafood steamboat restaurant nearby. The food wasn’t really my usual type, but it was edible. We got about 12 larger-than-average fresh crabs and four plastic containers of prawns (about 1-1.5kg). John, Justus and I went to help chop and wash up the crabs, although I didn’t do much. John did a very good job of chopping up the crabs (we only had one chopper). Everything else was self-service, from meat, noodles, rice, herbs, finger-food, satay, etc. It costs $12 per person, but was subsidised 5/6 of the cost. It was quite an enjoyable time, catching up with my cell, while having dinner together.

I also just realized I don’t blog that often. Usually it’s when lots of stuff happen in one day, or some memory that I want to remember next time, or some milestone or achievement, that I will write something about it.

Now I have somewhat suspended playing MapleStory and switched to PangYa. It’s a cool 3D golf game with cartoon/anime-like characters. Similar to Gunbound, but you hit the golf ball instead of shooting at your opponents.

Two weeks ago, I took the NAFPA test. Almost got a silver, but because I only could do three pull-ups (after going through the other stations). I usually could have done five, but I guess I was too tired. Maybe the next time I’ll try to request to do pull-ups first.

Yesterday my ITIPJ final presentation went very well! Although the project wasn’t error free, it went smoothly enough to please the independant marker. If not for my good friend Rosie =), I wouldn’t have gotten an invitation to the distinction presentation (we declined the offer later as we felt that we do not have enough time to enhance our current project to qualify it for a distinction assessment. There are incomplete parts that make it not a fully integrated system and we are not able to complete it within a day.)

I also did relatively well for my Business Communication presentation.

This morning, I managed to enhance my website with the free weather feed from weather.com, which I also previously used in the ITIPJ. Now my visitors can see the current Singapore weather.

After my lunch, I went with my mother for the eye check-up in Mee Mee Optics (in Park Mall). I got a new pair of spectacles while I was there.

My mum got some weight gainers product for me from Nature’s Farm while on the way back as it was on offer (buy 1 get 1 free which also means 50% discount). Lots of people say I’m thin and have to eat more, especially my maternal grandmother. That product is best taken after exercising, which means I have to exercise more often.

Now some updates on the MapleStory SEA accounts:
MysticDoor (ice wizard) – level 41
MirackeKid (assassin) – level 57
